Hi everyone! The blog has moved on to the next chapter. =) Feel free to search around this old time capsule and check out my old entries. I really want to thank everyone out there who has believed in what I do. It means the world when people come up to me just to say whats up and tell me they’ve been to my blog. I’m like, “really? You go to my blog?”

Please enjoy the new blog and bookmark it. I promise this will be a different online journal for me than ever before. Stay tuned!

+ Laurie & Adam +

Here are some peeks from a shoot I did with Laurie and Adam! They are both Broadway Stars and amazing performers, and it was so amazing to capture these fun images of them. Can’t wait to see them in action again on the stage!

+ Missing my Mom +

My dad took this portrait of my mom. It’s one of my favorites. It was taken long before I was born, and probably around the early years of their marriage. Both my parents were able to travel the world together, and with a husband as a photographer, mommy got lots of portraits. This one sticks out in my mind though for lots of reasons. Everything gravitated towards her in this image. I think about how my dad felt when he saw her, and how he probably scrambled his camera to catch this perfect moment. For me, I remember everything about her when I look at this picture, and that’s why photography is so amazing to me. Her love for life and the arts was something she really wanted me to have, and I appreciate it so much now. It’s been 13 years since she passed away, and I am so glad she’s still with me through the journey. Love you mom. Happy Mothers Day!

+ Japan! +

Here are some sneak peeks from my trip to Japan. It was absolutely one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to. The culture, food, art, and people were from another world. Can’t wait to post some of the shoots I was able to do, as well as a lot of my travel photography and sightseeing I did. Have a great weekend!

+ yay for proposals! +

Just got back into LA today from a wonderul trip in Japan! The best part was that I was able to make the drive out to Irvine and capture a once in a lifetime moment for my two friends. Congrats to Jay and Tinz! Stay tuned for the whole story!

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it. - Unknown

+ growing up with a photographer +

Yes, this is my dad. See the resemblance?? Haha. Anyways, I took this portrait of him a while back when I first bought my Canon 50mm. He was like asking me all these questions about it, and why I was testing out the lens at such a wide aperture. I laughed as I told him I was experimenting, and to stop talking so I could shoot him. He quickly went back into portrait mode for me. Growing up with a father that not only supported the arts, but was actually a photographer himself was a blessing. I feel like I took it for granted growing up and never saw the road it would eventually lead me to. What I appreciate most is that he let me be what I wanted to be. In junior high, he would ask me to assist him on shoots, and to be honest, a lot of times I said no. I wonder if that broke his heart to hear those words time after time. Then there would be those occasions where I would go with him to weddings or photo sessions and change up the medium format packs for him, carry his bags, and watch him pose people. He would always ask me if I was paying attention which I thought was pretty funny. These days, I hope I’ve made him proud to take the journey with him in the world of photography. If he ever learns about this blog, hi Pa! Sorry if you don’t like this photo.

+ happy bday bev +

Took my beautiful wifey to dinner at our fav restaurant, Animal. If you haven’t gone, I highly recommend you go here to sample some of the best eats in LA.

This place gets packed quick, so definitely call and make some reservations ASAP! Okay, so here is the yummy dishes we tried out for the evening:

hamachi, torn herbs, fish sauce vinaigrette, crispy shallot 13
barbeque pork belly sandwiches, slaw 12 (four thumbs up!)
roasted marrow bone, caramelized shallot, chimmi churri, toast 8
balsamic pork ribs, apple & fennel slaw, almonds 14
pound cake, macerated strawberries, cream 7
king crab with tobasco butter yummyness

Every dish melted in our mouths!

Happy bday wifey! I’ll be posting pics soon from bev’s bday bash. Have a great day!
